UNC Health Nash Plans New Medical Offices In Nashville And Middlesex
UNC Health Nash continues to expand its footprint with new facilities in the Nashville and Middlesex areas of Nash County, furthering its mission to improve healthcare access and modernize services for the community.
Following the groundbreaking of its new seven-story inpatient tower last month, UNC Health Nash will soon begin construction on two new medical office buildings. The Nashville site will be located off Red Oak Road near U.S. 64, while the Middlesex facility will be built on existing UNC Nash property at Middlesex Corporate Parkway—where a smaller primary care clinic currently operates.
“This is an exciting step in our efforts to better meet the health needs of the western Nash County community,” said Dr. L. Lee Isley, President and CEO of UNC Health Nash. “Through surveys, data analysis, and collaboration with local officials, we’ve identified a growing demand for healthcare services in these areas. We’re proud to help meet those needs and deliver exceptional care close to home.”
Each new building will support eight primary care providers, significantly improving access to primary care and reducing patient travel time and wait periods.
The Nashville location will also include an urgent care clinic, modeled after the one UNC Nash opened near its main hospital in October. Like its counterpart, the Nashville urgent care will accept walk-ins, though appointments will be available for those seeking shorter wait times. It will serve patients aged six months and older, treating non-emergency conditions such as minor injuries, cold and flu symptoms, and other routine ailments. The goal is to provide a more accessible and cost-effective alternative to emergency room visits.
Meanwhile, the Middlesex expansion will move current primary care services into the new facility and increase provider capacity to eight. UNC Nash is evaluating potential uses for the existing clinic on the site, including the possibility of transforming it into an urgent care location. Specialty care services—such as orthopedics and cardiology—which have been rotating through the Middlesex clinic over the past two years, will continue to grow based on patient demand.
UNC Health Nash plans to host grand opening events for both sites in summer 2026. The Middlesex location is slated to open in July, with the Nashville facility following in August.
