UT Southwestern Breaks Ground On $177M Oncology Campus In Fort Worth

UT Southwestern Medical Center has officially broken ground on a new $177 million radiation oncology campus in Fort Worth.

Once completed, the facility will become the largest radiation oncology facility in Fort Worth.

The 65,000-square-foot facility will be connected to UTSW’s Moncrief Cancer Institute and will introduce the city’s first MRI-guided precision radiation treatment.

Scheduled to open in 2028, the project is being funded in part by a generous donation from philanthropists Sherri and Robert Patton Jr.  Once completed, it will become the largest radiation oncology facility in Fort Worth.

The state-of-the-art campus will include a dedicated brachytherapy suite for high-dose radiation treatments targeting prostate and gynecologic cancers, four linear accelerators for delivering advanced radiation therapy, and positron emission tomography (PET) technology for precise tumor diagnosis and monitoring.

“This milestone, once completed, will ensure that Tarrant County residents have access to the best available cancer care,” said Dr. Daniel Podolsky, president of UT Southwestern. “It combines the latest advances in medical technology with the expertise of our clinicians and researchers—some of the nation’s leading cancer specialists.”
