Booming Area West Of Fort Worth To Receive Its First Hospital
Texas Health Resources has announced plans to build a new hospital in Willow Park, a rapidly growing community west of Fort Worth.
The facility, expected to open in 2028, will be the first hospital in the area and is part of Texas Health’s broader expansion into high-growth regions of North Texas.
The new hospital will be located near existing Texas Health facilities, including the Neighborhood Care and Wellness Center and the Orthopedic and Spine Surgery Center in Willow Park, according to a press release from the health system.
The region along Interstate 20 between west Fort Worth and Weatherford has seen significant growth in recent years, driven by large-scale housing developments and new infrastructure. Notably, Walsh Ranch—a massive residential and commercial development—is expected to add thousands of new residents. In addition, the University of Texas at Arlington is constructing a new satellite campus nearby, also set to open in 2028.
Texas Health’s expansion into Willow Park follows similar initiatives in other fast-growing areas, such as Forney and southwest Fort Worth.
“North Texans deserve quality care close to home, and Texas Health is excited to embark on this next chapter of growth to meet patients where they are,” said Texas Health CEO Barclay Berdan. “We’re committed to offering a wide range of services that meet the evolving needs of these communities.”
The Willow Park hospital will include a team of physicians specializing in complex joint replacement, positioning it as a destination for orthopedic care in the region.
“Bringing tailored healthcare services to communities like Willow Park is at the heart of our mission,” said Shawn Parsley, president and COO of Texas Health Physicians Group. “Establishing a hub for advanced orthopedic services here is a natural fit for the area’s growing population.”
