Plans Announced For $400 Million Hospital In Sherman, Texas

A major new healthcare facility is coming to Sherman, with Community Hospital Corporation (CHC) announcing plans for the $400 million Heritage Regional Medical Center.

The state-of-the-art, non-profit acute care hospital is scheduled to break ground in early 2026 within the Heritage Ranch Master Planned Community, near the intersection of U.S. Highway 82 and FM 1417. The facility is expected to open its doors in early 2028.

Phase one of the development will feature 100 inpatient beds, along with the infrastructure to expand key departments such as surgery, emergency care, and outpatient services. The facility will also be designed to accommodate up to 200 additional outpatient beds in the future.

Initially, the hospital will employ over 400 staff members, with that number projected to exceed 1,000 as the center grows.

“We are thrilled to lead the development of the new Heritage Regional Medical Center,” said Jim Kendrick, President and CEO of CHC. “Our mission is to serve Sherman and the surrounding communities with excellence and compassion, delivering high-quality, technologically advanced care to local patients.”

Kendrick also announced that Ron Seal, former CEO of Texoma Medical Center, will serve as CEO of the new facility.
