Walmart Health To Close All Locations

Bentonville, Arkansas-based retail giant Walmart plans to close all 51 health locations across five states and shut down its virtual care.

The concept was created in 2019, providing patients services like primary care, lab work, X-rays and EKGs, as well as dental care, behavioral health services and immunizations.

The company cited a “challenging reimbursement environment and escalating operating costs” in making the decision.

Provider partners will continue to provide care and will be paid for the next 90 days.

The decision will not affect the company’s 4,600 pharmacies and 3,000 vision centers.
